Description
A double-suction centrifugal split case pump is a pump with a unique design featuring two inlet ports, through which the fluid enters the impeller. This design ensures even distribution of the fluid flow on both sides of the impeller, reducing axial loads on the shaft and improving its stability and service life.
Key features and advantages of a double-suction pump:
Even flow distribution: By feeding fluid from both sides, these pumps provide more stable operation.
Increased capacity: Due to the larger inlet area, these pumps can handle a higher volume of fluid compared to single-suction counterparts.
Reduced axial loads: The reduction in axial load contributes to a longer service life for bearings and other components.
High efficiency: These pumps are often used in large-scale water supply systems, power generation, and industrial applications where high performance is required with minimal energy consumption.
Applications
- Water supply and distribution
- Oil and gas industry
